CTW Admin James Posted May 3, 2003 CTW Admin Share Posted May 3, 2003 Tom, If you read this can you reply urgently ! I'm deffo getting a new camera especially for Wildchild tomorrow night - i'm looking at the Fuji Finepix S602. Ive seen it at 'normal' shops for like £550 but just spotted it online for £450. It does look the nads and all the reviews look good. let me know if you think this is too much / there is a better camera out there. the s02 isnt that 'new' - has been around a good 6 months. but it does everything i want and i believe the fujis has the best exposure (from results ive seen). Its also quick firing etc.. Quote James@ClubTheWorld.uk CTW Admin | ClubTheWorld.uk | Twitter | Instagram Clubbing the world together ...

CTW Members Signum Posted May 4, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted May 4, 2003 James! The s602 is supposed to be very nice, and cos its a little oldish its getting cheaper, but it has 3 megapixels which can be 'made' into 6 mpixels, so thats not so great, but the pictues are still said to be outstanding, and it has the best video capture of any camera, 640x480 for as long as you have storage, at 30 frames per second, so with a 1 gig ibm drive you can get 15 minutes of camcorder quality video, nice one! The c4040 is very nice too, as Tom can tell you I ahve a cheap website for that too, I will pm it to you when I find it again, will ahve a look just now, but beware, both these cameras are big and for a reason, they take great photos, but can you dance with them in your pocket? hope this helps

CTW Members TomD Posted May 5, 2003 Author CTW Members Share Posted May 5, 2003 that fuji looks pretty smart james from the review I found here if it's the same one. full spec - i think from the spec it sounds very similar to mine, with the video clip function, etc, i think the res is higher but you'll be able to take some v nice shots with it, different ISO modes, manual shutter, etc. siggers has got a point though, my camera definitely isn't "pocket", so have to drag it about all night. still, pros and cons really.... i'd say go for it but be prepared to spend a LOT of time changing the settings every time you want to start up the camera to take a shot, i have to alter white balance and change the flash setting, and even sometimes aperture, before being able to take one decent shot. (because obviously it's set default for daytime shots or something less complicated as shots inside a club)

CTW Admin James Posted May 6, 2003 CTW Admin Share Posted May 6, 2003 Cheers guys - i decided to hold off until i read what you had to say and also because i know i can get the camera cheaper online. I am also wanting to ensure that the size wont be a problem - like you say pros and cons. I tend to spend a bit more time talking and meeting people now than stomping all night so maybe not 'too' much of an issue - having said that i do like to dance and i wouldnt be too happy leaving this camera in someone else's care to be honest. I think it could be ok just round my neck though ? Ideally i would have somewhere to put it for the first half of the night so i can get the stomping out of my system and then spend the rest of the night taking pics - but then again i'd miss pics of half the DJs. its a tough one !
