CTW Promotors Lisa Posted May 10, 2004 CTW Promotors Share Posted May 10, 2004 1.6 gig, 512 mb ram, you will need some kind of audio interface ie a standalone soundcard Quote Techno, Techno, Techno

CTW Members Scream Posted May 10, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted May 10, 2004 well if you're going for logic, fuck a pc mate. Better to go with a mac!! Cubase well i would stick like a P4 2Ghz in with like a 1Gb Ram, maybe an external delta sound card. That would set you up sweet and shouldn't have any problems from that i would say. CTW Members Scream Posted May 10, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted May 10, 2004 well if he's going for Logic then the mac would be a lot better. Only prob is that the sound cards for these are external. In 90% of the cases you're going to need an external sound card for this as this is the most important part. Look at the mac's laptops. My mate uses one for when he's on his travels for exactly the same reason and then has a mac at home with desk to do the finer things to a track. Having an external sound card though isn't very portable. They are small but it's hurrying to put it away and all that, and you can't just sit with it on your lap as you hve the laptop and the card. Can be a pain the bum. No real way around that i'm afraid, well not that i know of anyway.

Guest Jay
why dont you just get a home mac & just hum the tunes on the train?? thats my suggestion
CTW DJs Ian Cashman Posted May 10, 2004 CTW DJs Share Posted May 10, 2004 if youre gonna go 'legit' and down the mac road.... for a laptop/software and audio interface... i was quoted £2300... ahem i reckon you could knock a grand off that with a pc. I know Logic is now discontinued on the pc now, but its future-proofed for a fair few years yet. any new 'advances in technology' ae gonna be plug-ins i imagine, so theyre still gonna work with logic. Until i'm doing it 'professionally' (maybe never???) i cant justify spending all that money...!
