CTW Members Blink Posted November 3, 2002 CTW Members Share Posted November 3, 2002 What to say....... The general consensus from the people I went with was "disappointing". As you can imagine, everybody was very up for this event, I even went out and bought myself a new outfit, we were in the queue at 9.15, all was looking good. We get inside, and there is an "oldies" set being played. Fair enough if you like that sort of thing, not my cup of tea. The first disappointment (and personally the biggest disappointment for me), was when the set finished, Madders jumped on stage and thanked Mr Farley....Mr Farley, first on, with an "oldies" set, didn't say anything about that on the flier. After that, I lost track a bit of who was DJing, (never been one for following DJs), but no-one seemed to really grab the crowd (or at least our little group), and whenever a set finished, Madders jumped on the mike again, ranted and raved about Radio 1 DJ's, and sundis residents, but it just interrupted the flow. Even when a "tune" was played, the track following seemed really flat, so you never got really camped-out on the dancefloor. We were so uninspired that we actually left before the close!! Having said that, at Aftersential, Strange Dave and Dangle played the best Afters set I have ever heard, it was consistently hard, but weaved between house, trance and nu-energy, so it always kept you interested. I danced more during S D & D's set at Afterss than I did all through Sundis. Afterss made the night all worth while, and in the end I am glad I went.
