Adding event suggestions

All,

Please would you try and follow the new procedure for adding an event suggestion ...

1) Go to the Calendar link at the top right hand corner of the screen

2) Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click 'Add New Event'

3) Enter the Event Title/name, venue and location - if there is enough space (dont enter the date in this field)

4) Set the Date for Event (note you can set up a 'ranged event' and 'recurring event'

5) Leave the Type of Event as Public

6) Enter the full event details, including links to flyers/web sites as necessary

7) Click 'Add Calendar Event' and then copy the URL/link of the event

8) Go the the Event Suggestions forum (or This Week forum) and create a new post as you would normally, but paste the URL/link into the message body of the post - dont re-type all the event information.

Basically the event details should be added into the calendar first and then referenced in the dicussion thread - not the other way round. I.e. Please dont paste all the details in the dicussion thread and then create a calendar entry with a link to the discussion thread as the threads are moved around the forums and the links will become invalid. The master event details should reside in the Calendar. This also makes it easier to look back at past event details etc.

Dont worry too much if you dont understand - the moderators will move/tidy up the event details as much as possible, but are likely to only pick the most popular events.

I really do hope people follow these guidelines.

How frustrating (for me) when you open a post for it just to read

yep agreed, even worse is stuff like ...

"SS this saturday"

with fook all details.

Any posts like these will either be deleted or just moved to General Discussion.

All event suggestions should have at least the following information;

Event Name

Venue

Location

Date

Times

plus ideally;

Music genres / rooms

DJs / set times

etc..
