With the Tidy Weekender still fresh in our minds, Tidy Trax delivered the second of their one-two double punch for this time of year, and the third Tidy London once again failed to dissappoint...

The evening started off with the various CTW factions assembling themselves in All Bar One opposite Victoria Station. Special mentions to Johnny for leaving his makeup bag behind, and for James turning up slightly worse for wear. Must be his age, bless him. Anyways, champagne was ordered, merriment was had and we generally worked ourselves into an almost religious fervour.

The revealing of LionelTheVinyl came as great amusment to the other people in the bar, particularly those who were off to School Disco (coughpissedupwankerscough). As the hour approached, the group split into those going to XLR8 for James' birthday, and those die hard Tidy heads who were staying.

The queue for Tidy London was the longest I'd seen, stretching nearly down to the main room by the time we got in. Once inside, coats deposited, it was time to sit back and soak up the ambience (and sweltering heat), that only the SE1 club can provide.

The Trophy Twins kept the funky room jumping all night with their insane cut-up magic (or "[censored] around with the tracks", according to Mr Happy. I made it into the main room in time to hear a remix of Scot Project's O - Overdrive, which was neatly mixed into the Tony Du Vit remix of Louise's Naked, something I have never heard played out before. The crowd roared with approval, as the beats were kept pumping. By the time Paul Maddox took to the stage, the atmosphere in the main room had reached fever pitch. Dropping the sublime hard remix of Prodigy's Voodoo People as his first track, Maddox demonstrated just why Amo and Andy are grooming him for big things.

And what of the most famous dance double act of all time? Well, the Tidy Boys took the roof off as they are famed for doing, bringing their often copied, never bettered jump around funk to the main room and got the crowd screaming for more. Lashes followed with her typical hardness, and it was left to Andy Farley to finish off main room preceedings.

Elsewhere, with the mechanical bull giving clubbers the slip left right and centre, the epitomy of hardness, Mr Paul Glazby finished off the headstrong arena, but neglected to play an encore track, which led to cries of derision from some parts of the crowd. This, however, couldn't detract from an otherwise flawless set which allowed the Vicious Circle label boss to further cement his already formidible reputation.

As the evening drew to an end, only the inevitable queues stood between us and the real world. In the past 18months, the Tidy Weekenders and Tidy London events have seen Tidy go from strength to strength. And if it's this good now, damnit, we can hardly wait for the next time!

SPECIAL MENTIONS

Mr Happy - for being thoroughly likeable, and for coming through his first CTW meetup relatively unscathed.

Scream - for putting his tongue in strange new places.

FredtheBaddie - for commandeering the funky room as his hunting ground, and for demonstrating a unique robot dance style.

CreamyC - for using the All Bar One toilets to metamorphise into his alterego, LioneltheVinyl!

SarahPVC - for not hitting me, no matter how many times I attempted to detatch her breastplate.

Monster - for giving excellent massages.

Tony - for never dancing.

Smurf - for once again amusing all with his hoover backpack, but sadly not with Shake and Vac this time.
