a mum telling that she didn't want more bloodshed to retrieve the body of her son, from a warzone?

"i believe that the body is a box for what's inside, and sometimes the box breaks, but it's what inside that counts. no more blood should be shed to retrieve the body's"

FUCK. :'( sad.gif

I thought it was pretty obvious rolleyes.gif

the mother doesn't want any more blood shed getting her boys body out of Iraq, because most wil see it as a box not what it contains.

think it was the 'bravest' thing that obviously confused me then.......was she getting it herself (no, that wasnt a pisstake).

yes it tugs at the heartstrings, and yes it would upset me but i wouldnt call it one of the bravest things.....maybe i have a different oppinion of brave shrug.gif

Yeah obviously you do ... For a mother to have lost her son in the most horrific way, to tell the world basically, if it means more blood shed getting the box out then forget it ... I would say that is very brave statement (emotionally) to make very unselfish, very careing .. there are alot of word I could add to the list and brave would most certainly be in there.

Wouldn't life be boring though if we were all of the same mind and thoughts ... I just thank god that i've got compassion for others especially in these circumstances.

I tend to agree with Dawn, what this lady is doing, is giving up the chance to get her son back over to give him a decent buriel, so that it can possibly save others, to me that is incredibly brave, I know if it were my child, I would want them back if I could smile.gif

Lou, I dont think dawn was saying your not compassionate at all, she was merely pointing or staing how she see's this ladies reaction to things, as for explaning better, I thought Dawn's break down was clear cut smile.gif

Not there is much to come home.

this could be true, but something is better than nothing, is it not, just the sheer fact of knowing your child/son is dead is bad enough!!
