What makes a good club?

Alrighty peeps,

 

In your opinion, what makes a decent club a decent club?

 

Is it the music, the lighting, atmosphere or just getting ed with your mates.

 

I dunno, i just need your opinions

1. Good music for a start

2. Being there with at least one lurvely person

3. Must be a friendly and fun atmosphere

4. Getting !

 

Lighting is one of those things that just amke a good night better. It is also nice to have adequate seating or a chill out area for when you don't want to (or can't!) dance.

True, but you never find em in decent clubs, only cheeseburger places like Equinox, BigEE69's favourite club !

Yup, at my usual club there is usually adequate seating in the upstairs bit, but unfortunately, they sometimes play garage in there

 

But in my fav club, there are three floors with the middle one being a fully seated area with a small dancefloor for the really people, they even recently got loads of leather sofas and coffee tables in....nice !

I'm sure I'll miss something out, but ...

 

Quite a small venue

Decent bouncers

No dress code and, in fact, less of the whole "dressing up" thing

No unnecessary queues

Good access to cold drinking water

Chillout area

UV

Stage to dance on

Not relying too much on guest DJs all the time

Less of the anthems, more emphasis on new, unheard material

Always having that "one more tune" at the end! It's so important!

 

Above all, atmosphere is most definitely the important thing, and a club doesn't necessarily have to be full for that, either.

 

I'd also say that even having your mates there isn't important. If you've got the right atmosphere then you'll be able to have a good time completely on your own.

 

The thing I would say on the subject of bouncers is that it is their main job to keep the undesired element out, and to make sure everyone inside is safe and having a good time. If you can get bouncers that combine the two without introducing their own third element to the job, "being a cock", then I would say you've got it made.

 

Good thing about Edinburgh is that there's at least two good venues which have most of these things.

If never been to equinox. That i rememeber, tho Grant seems to know a lot about it!!... the details are below, for the rest of you.

 

Pacha London is another story, and a great club!!, they have deliciously comfertable chesterfields sofas, very glam and sexy clientele, briliant light and sound stystem, chill out areas, small vip area behind main dj booth, open for every one to see, and host such lightweights as: Frankie Knuckles, Eric Morrilo, Roger Sanchez, David Moralles, indulge, Kinky Malinki, Hed Kandi. The security is polite and corteous. no one gets searched, and they don't have metal detectors.

 

Course if you want to party in a shed, that's your look out!

Look let's get this quite clear, I set out going to Yates's. it's only when i had already started out for there that I got a txt from bunnykins saying they had gone to the hippodrome. I thought it was a wind up!! She assured me it wasn't. As I had a replacement phone for tash i couldn't very well not go. But it was not through choice!! I don't go and see crap Ali G impersonators for fun you know!!
