Oh MY, I never posted a review on this? Where is my mind? I could've sworn I did...I KNOW I did! But sometimes I'll type a post, enter it, and then it never posts...must have been what happened!

IT WAS BRILLIANT!! For one, his energy was seeping through every ounce of space in that club. Once again confirming himself as my favorite dj notworthy.gif since I came to NL

(VERY impressed with the venue...reminds me of my fave Prog club in Amsterdam...good lights/sound/room to dance.....and the PEOPLE...WOW!!) Maybe that's why I felt so much energy... from song one until the last.. yelling, clapping, singing, dancing NON-STOP). I LUV how you PARTY, Scotland!! Totally FRESH, smooth, warm vibes. Will DEFINATELY be back!!

Tom-What other places are good in Scotland? Flights are so cheap there....might return around beginning of 2003!! thumbs.gif

Glad you had a good time. smile.gif

Shame I couldn't have been there myself. frown.gif

The Venue has quite a long history in Edinburgh's club scene (from what I've heard, anyway!) and I really like the place. A lot of people prefer huge venues with capacity for 3000 people, but at about 700 people on two floors, I think The Venue is a nice size. Personally I prefer small, intimate, "underground" places.

I'm glad the lighting was good. Last time I was there for Majestica (Trisco were the guest DJs for October) it was something I really enjoyed - having a room filled with smoke, and piercing ultraviolet and blue - wow. Nice.

And yes the crowd are brilliant aren't they! I had to shake someone's hand afterwards just because she had been great throughout, giving it cheers practically all night long.

Elsewhere in Scotland - I don't often travel through to Glasgow so I couldn't really help you there. The only night that I would be interested in going to that I've heard of is PRESSURE at the Arches (house and techno), hosted by Slam (two house/techno guys, you've heard of them) with guests this month Pete Tong, Thomas Bangalter & DJ Falcon (pretty good lineup, eh!).

In Edinburgh it really depends what music you're into. Our club scene is quite underground, which means you're never exactly going to see the likes of DJ Tiesto or Ferry Corsten here. There aren't really any hard house or trance nights - instead there's a lot of good solid house music, like Majestica, and some techno and drum&bass. Other good club nights include Progression (progressive/tribal house), Ultragroove (disco/funky house), Do This Do That (house), Dogma (techno), Manga (drum & bass).

If you're coming back in 2003 then these are some clubs you should watch out for! smile.gif

P.S. If anyone wants to read a review of Majestica that I did, then you can find it here: http://www.cscot.com/reviews/majesticaoct02/
