How long does it take to drive to Nottingham from London?

 

before i get any smart arse answers about depending on how fast you are going, we will be travelling at an average to fast speed!!!

depends where in london you are coming from & what time of day you are travelling at!

It took me 2 hours from Leeds to M25 and a further 4 1/2 hours getting to Viaduct on a fri afternoon.

I would leave b4 3 or after 8.00 or you will be stuck in the traffic jam from hell...or the friday afternoon london commuter exodus, as it is otherwise known. From camberwell, I would head towards bermondsey and the Rotherhide tunnel...go through that, limehouse link, then follow the signs for city airport through docklands, till you hit the m11. Take the M11 to the m25, go round the m25 till you get to the m1 take the m1 all the way up to the nottingham turnoff and robert is your mothers brother!!.

 

i seriously recommend that you don't Go down the a2/a20, cos that will add ages to the journey round the m25, and you have to pay to cross the dartford bridge/ tunnel or use the a13, cos they have major road works.

That journey b4 3 or after 8, should take around 1.5 hours, - 2.00 hours depending on how fast you drive. Between 3 and 8..add up to 4 hours for traffic delays. I am not joking.

 

Anyone think i spend to much time driving?...i am sat in the KLM lounge at Heathrow Airport, heading offf to amsterdam, drinking grolsh, and typed all this off the top of my head!!

I once drove from London to Leeds in 2 hrs (thats 200 miles)

nottingham was about 1 1/4hrs,

 

Mind you i was doing about 120mph non stop
