i went for a ride on my motorbike today it ..i went with two guys and we wound up on country roads zooming along me at the rear of course...so we hit this really long straight road and things got a bit quick.. the last time i remember looking we were doing 200 kmh and i was going off woooooooooo hoooooooooo under my helmet as we zoomed along .....when this spider the size of a dinner plate fought its way down the inside of my visor fighting the wind but managed to hold on, right in front of my eyes alas my wooooooo hoooooooo faded to arrrrggghhhhh i think i pooped my pants so after a blood curdling scream that i think the guy up front could hear it was brakes and hands flailing everywhere and thoughts of oh god im gonna die when i had an open the visor and the wind will blow it off..which i did ..and you thought blonds were dumb... think again...the wind blew it off my visor alright... and it landed on my face at that point death seemed irrelevant and i discovered i can ride without holding the handlebars and hold a scream for something like 3 minutes and remove my helmet while doing about 80 kmh, throwing same into the bushes, stopping the bike and rolling on the ground like i was on fire screaming my tits off but it seems the wind had finally worked for me and blew him off .....so im afraid im a bit of a nervous nellie at the mo and have had a and im working on a bottle of midorii....but wait theres more i didnt crash my bike, ruin my $600 helmet well too bad...but the bad news is i think ive sent the poor spider deaf........ewwwwwwwwwwwww it was on my face , i know its gone ive had two showers

I got splattered by a wasp once whilst out on the bike. Had my visor up and it got splattered on my cheek near my nose. It didn't half hurt at 90 mph. Luckily it didn't sting me, but when my mate looked it was squashed on my cheek with its sting still pointing upwards away from my face. If it had of stung me then it might on been a dusty pan and brush job !!! Wasps are my alltime biggest insecty type phobia. What helmet you got Rainbow, Ive got an Aria Quantum F, which whilst the fit is absolutely brilliant, the wind noise can be a bit of a pain at times ??

What kinda spider was it? I saw a redback thing when i was in Oz, hard to think a spider that small could kill ya

Ive never seen spiders as big as i did when i was there, huntsmen over here are small but the ones i saw there were like 10" wide and the webs were like man traps

owww that would have killed at that speed hun...ive heard of things happening like that, thats why i always close mine...well have to now yukky spiders,bugs, snakes my helmet is a shoei its really comfy....when im the only one in it and its really good for noise too..in fact when im wearing my neck sock theres no noise at all i think its an x2 x something n e way an x rated helmet is speed measured by miles an hour in the uk ? so if 100 kmh is 60 mph ..i was wondering...do you wear leather or like dri rider stuff ?

what sort of spider blu a bloody big one it was probably harmless but to me it looked like satan just thinking back my first reaction was to run, god it was terrifying but im so glad i didnt run.....cant run that fast but once it was on my face

Impressive story but wot I'm most impressed about is that you were able to identify the spider as being a "he" at those kinda speeds and with everything else going on!!!!!

in spiders the biggers ones tend to be the females. so it could of been a she.

 

just lucky it wasn't a funnel web my dear as that would of deff gone for ya, the agressive little fuckers!!!

Given that the weather over here is rubbish and it rains probably 99.9% of the time, I've got mainly all weather kit mainly Frank Thomas and Dainese kit. Got a pair of Sidi boots too which are well comfy on the bike, but bloody cripple me if I have to walk any distance in em and they also squeek. Wear lethers if its nice out, which seldom happens in the good old UK. I'd love to live in Australia cos its tremendous weather. The police are wankers over here, are they the same over there ? They have a huge bee in their bonnets about small licence plates, race cans, tinted visors etc !!!!
