go to eddie halliwell is the new god
for some (completely unbiased) comments.

He was better than at Heaven- more driving and less vocally, but Eddie was on fire (Hardwick was superb and Bond was good to start off before getting a but fanny. Even Jules was forced to put in some effort by having to follow Eddie).

I'm sure you had a great time in your teenie boppers and fluffy boots though Phil.

Eddie did indeed play an excellent set, first time i've ever seen him play, and was very impressed.
...
I couldnt get into Jules' set for some reason, but his crowd interaction was excellent!

I think Jules would have had a hard time playing a harder / pacier / more relentless set than Eddie. But he definitely carves his own niche - his "slightly cheeky" hard trance sound is definitely what he does best.

Jules was fucking loving it, he had a beaming smile for most of his set, and it definitely rubbed off on the crowd. Also I thought it was great to see him talking to the punters at the edge of the stage afterwards.

However Eddie Halliwell is where it's at as far as I'm concerned. On Sunday he gave me one of the most exhilarating musical experiences of my life. To say I was blown away is an understatement. Aaron - this was the third time I've seen him, but this was definitely the best of the three.

The sheer intensity, energy, and momentum of his set was incredible. Great tunes. And as for his scratching ... fuck me! I've never heard someone scratch so rhythmically and musically. His hands move like lightning. Some of it was totally in-your-face, but at other points he was doing really clever subtle stuff. He knows a thing or two about mixing too - the way he kept the pace going, and the way he blended the tracks together, was fantastic & very creative - loads of cunning chopping and changing with the crossfader. Again, a great mixture of rammed-down-your throat transitions and subtle blends, to suit the music he was playing and to keep it interesting.

Halliwell is no novelty act - in my eyes he is a "proper" musician. And to top it off he has an amazing stage-presence - he fucking rocks the joint. Eddie please will you marry me!
