CTW DJs Ian Cashman Posted February 15, 2004 CTW DJs Share Posted February 15, 2004 if you can narrow down the parts of logic that you dont need and ignore them, its actually a lot easier to use than reason.. Reason is all eye-candy with an awful method of routing things together... all that virtual patchlead buisiness is a load of time comsuming wank... having to have to rewire it to cubase is a really long way round to make it more powerful (not to mention complicating things a whole lot more than you need to!). the PC version of Logic aint gonna evr be so out of date that you are wasting your time learning it... I'd say its still gonna rule on the PC music front for a coupla years yet (which says a lot for a now discontinued program!).
CTW Members Homebru Posted February 15, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted February 15, 2004 QUOTE (Mod1 @ Feb 15 2004, 02:40 PM) Reason is all eye-candy with an awful method of routing things together... all that virtual patchlead buisiness is a load of time comsuming wank... Now come off the fence, tell us what you *really* think Don't just take my word for it, read why the professionals use it: Soon about to release a new album created mainly in Reason, Liam Howlett of Prodigy explains why the program, to him, is the best thing since sliced bread. I personally find the patch leads more intuitive than the combos, etc, in Cubase, plus it gave me an insight to how people like Eat Static & Shpongle create their music with the real hardware. But as we've seen here, it's not for everyone. QUOTE (Mod1 @ Feb 15 2004, 02:40 PM) having to have to rewire it to cubase is a really long way round to make it more powerful (not to mention complicating things a whole lot more than you need to!). A little under 3 minutes the last time I did it. Now I have a default song in Cubase & Reason which is already setup & ready to go whenever I open the applications, simple! Reason is Rewired through Cubase to give a greater degree of control, plus sounds like drums and the bass are brighter through monitors. Applications aside, it's important to feel comfortable with what you're using, but the most important point is to have fun!

This is a really really good point - some apps are the best and I have no doubt they are but they can take me 10 man years just to get used to the environment, whereas others I'm instantly at ease with (not talking about just music apps here) Quote James@ClubTheWorld.uk CTW Admin | ClubTheWorld.uk | Twitter | Instagram Clubbing the world, together ...
