CTW Members Claire DC Posted December 28, 2002 CTW Members Share Posted December 28, 2002 i have a pioneer djm 300 mixer tho i wished id waited as id thought of doin (i was impatient) for the 600 the 300 is good but iv heard sooo many good things about the 600!! U could try and get some second hand 1210's ?? IMO mk2s are good enough, u dont need mk3s unless u wana fork out the extra but i (until they were stolen) got by quite well with normal mk2s and they cant be that bad as theyve been the industry standard for about 20 years or somethin!! CTW Members Claire DC Posted December 28, 2002 CTW Members Share Posted December 28, 2002 i meant inn comparison to the mk3's i dont see the value for money in them as the difference is only minor!! CTW Members Mr Happy Posted December 28, 2002 CTW Members Share Posted December 28, 2002 hence the 'mk' bit rather than giving them an entirely new product name Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted December 29, 2002 CTW Members Share Posted December 29, 2002 I haven't quite got my head around your cryptic sarcasm Mr Happy!!! Presumably you agree that 1210's will do the job? Or you are actually saying that Linux is a sufficient operating system? Whether it's your logic or your spelin (sic), you always keep me on my toes mate!!!

CTW Members goshow Posted December 29, 2002 CTW Members Share Posted December 29, 2002 Elemental, trust me mate for £600 you can get a [censored] hot set up. i've just got a pair of mk3 1210s, vestax PCV275 3 channel mixer, stanton trackmaster 2RS cartridges and all leads, just 1 year old for £670. thats about £1400 brand new. Now tell me you can't get a decent set up for around £600! and by the way it was on Ebay.

CTW Members goshow Posted December 29, 2002 CTW Members Share Posted December 29, 2002 As a rule of thumb, try to get hold of some direct drives as apposed to belt drives. Any decks are better than no decks. Whatever decks you buy it won't be long until you want some 1210's. unless they are 1210's!!
CTW Members Claire DC Posted December 29, 2002 CTW Members Share Posted December 29, 2002 i started on sony decks, direct drive but it was a matter of 4 months before i had 1210s lol!!
