But i do have a hardcore cd mixed by Mark E.G, why would he put his name to this them?

 

Is it called Absolute Hardcore (or something like that)??

And released by Slammin Vinyl?

 

It aint Hardcore, just really bouncy Hard Trance!

People tend to think he is a Hardcore DJ because he mostly plays at Hardcore events and promoters like Slammin tend to put him in the 'Hardcore' arena.

 

The only Hardcore Mark has ever played was some of the early Industrial strength and Drop Bass Network stuff but were going back years and years here!

I dunno you know, I would say a lot of the new stuff is 'softer' than Hardcore of old! a lot of it is now heavily trance influenced with kickdrums softened and more synth melodies.

 

In fact there has been uproar within the Hardcore community about Hixxy and his Raverbaby label for over doing the trance influence in trax!

 

Brisk's new stuff is rough as fcuk though!

Used to go raving with my white gloves and whistle. Not been to a happy hardcore event for years though. After listening to that bonkers cd wub bought me (specially the Hixxy one) am gagging to go to another one. Really wanted to go to Hardcore Heaven, but couldn't make it! I fuckin love hardcore, used to go round the country with my mate who was a dj, and i used to mc for him!

Would love to get the opportunity to get back up on the mic just for one night!

My fave tune tho is a real cheesy one that i rarely heard in clubs, was called 'My Dreams' By Sub-zero and fade.

When Steam stopped at The Downtown one of the residents (Vortex) started up a night called 'Death row Techno' down the road in Club Zinc. After a few years DRT moved to The Void in S-O-T and became 'North Radical Technology' (Or North for short).

Yeah Neil was 3-dom, I knew it had gone down to Club Stink, and called DRT North, and then heard it went to the Void but wasnt sure if was still running!

I remember Greg showing me a mag where clarkee had said steam was in his top10 clubs, and it was also Voted Britains Hardest Club in 96 or 97, or probably both!

Old skool Hardcore:u know Ratpack,Slipmatt is still soundin fuckin fresh as did 10 years ago,but Happy Hardcore was really good in like 1995 but some of it soundin a bit cheesy now,as 4 this Hardcore that been around for a few years some of it fuckin mental,i like djs like Mark.E.G,Scorpio,Producer etc,but im afraid half of is made non-talented twats.

I used to go to Fusion at Bath Pavillion, it used to be a right little sweat pit, but I used to think it was great! all the oldies like Vinylegroover, Force n Styles, Slipmatt, Hixxy etc! im going to go home and dig out all my old tapes! hehe
