Hey everyone,

just wondering whether anyone can point me in the direction of a site that dishes out basic knowledge on djing and music production. as i was awful at music at skool but mainly due to people trying to put a recorder in my hand (WHY???) Anyway got my decks bout 4 months ago but did it cos of love for tunes...so baically need help with the actual music side for example stuff to do with beats and bars and all that lark...

anyway look forward to the responses spliff.gif

Dont know of any sites mate, but i know there are loads of books available. www.htfr.co.uk have some in the products section.

Song structure is pretty easy mate. House is 4/4 so theres 4 beats to a bar and 4 bars to a part(16 beats). Most HH and trance etc will change and drop out for mixing in 32 beat parts

The reat is just practise

i can't help you for the moment mate because someone i know is just in the middle of setting up a site right now to do just that for folk up here, called dance music network scotland which will offer music tuition. maybe in a couple of months or something!

in the meantime i suggest you make a post somewhere like www.djbay.com where there's a small but friendly group of folk who are into DJing and producing and might be able to help you.
