Teabags...My thoughts.

I might of posted it before but its just come to me again.

 

Why have people wasted so much time and money trying to come up with new shape tea bags (pyramid, round, cube, square) to try and get more flavour out of the tea?????

 

They say that the leaves have more room to move in those shapes....BUT.....when hot water is poured onto a tea bag REGARDLESS OF THE SHAPE the tea bag EXPANDS with hot air giving plenty of room for the leaves to move, circulate and give off their oh so lovely flavour.....

 

SO THEN....IN SHORT....DONT pay for more expensive tea bags just coz the adverts say they will be better due to the shape of the bag....just buy the bloody tea you like the taste of and save those extra pennies for other needful stuff....like.....urm.....milk and sugar......and maybe a few new cups.

i have to pay loads for my tea cus i have caffiene free but to me it dont matter what shape they are, all tastes the same to me

You shouldn;t buy cheap tea though.... think of all the poor people who have to work their asses off for practicly nothing...

 

if theres a chance more money is going to them you should buy the more expensive brand.. you can afford if after all

I'm not saying either way. I don't know the answer; it just seems like a naive assumption. I imagine that, if the majority of the extra income was channelled back to the labourers, they would probably make a big deal out of it on the packaging and in their marketing.

 

Slogans like "fair-trade" and "free range" are only relative terms anyway; apparently the standards that they have to meet aren't that great.

 

I saw a good "anti-'anti-capitalism'" documentary on TV a couple of months back. It was a backlash against your standard anti-capitalist "large corporations are exploiting poor communities" type rant - very interesting to hear the other side of the story for a change.

 

They showed how some shoe company (Reebok I think) had vastly boosted the standard of life in some poor villages. From our perspective, yes, their wages were crap, but they still got paid far more than anyone else in their area and all seemed happy.

 

I'm not necessarily saying that the tea industry is the same though.

I first posted this on another message board about 2 years ago and I was browsing though it last night when I came across this.

I wasnt being serious. There are too many intellegent words in my post to even think I wasnt joking.
