Yeah I know. I wanted kind of a minimlistic but banging/techy feel to it.

Maybe look into sorting your levels out a bit better. Kick drum got a little lost.

Agree with moo that it needs a little more structure to it.

granted i didnt listen to all of it (was streaming it through winamp) so i haed lots of 10 second clips, but it sounded like it was almost void of all percusion - i cant think of many techy tunes that r sparse with the percusion (but then i love percusion so thats the side of techno i tend to lean towards)

Percussion would be a great start. With the feel of the tune i think some good industrial sounding percussion would fit well. clang!!

But would look into the kick drum being a bit more punchy

I havnt got a clue about fruityloops to be fair.

Just been playing around abit with it and thats what I came up with.

So as im learning the tune will get better with time.

very monotemous but do like the hoovery noises u put thru it!! tho at the the end of say 16 bars the va,va,va,va noises shud go vreeeer like the ones in the breakdown!!!! if that makes any sense!!!

hi mate,

 

the pros:

thought it worked well as a minimal tune. i couldn't dance to it, but i could get very lost whilst listening to it - which is what i get out of them kinda choons.

 

cons:

gets very swamped in the middle, few bits got drowned out - bit of volume or cutoff mite help, dunno

 

ends too slowly, mite be dj friendly but turned me off as a listener to the whole tune.
