CTW Members Blink Posted April 16, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted April 16, 2003 Sorry, had to post this because so many dance songs are nicking stuff from metal/industrial, and you kiddies have no idea. (Actually, I haven't heard the other version of Hellraiser, so it is probably just a coincidence that they share the same title), but after "[censored] Hostile" (Glazby - Pantera), "Drugs taking your lives away" ( ? - Sheep On Drugs), "Ding-a-ding dang my dang-a-long-a-ling-long" (Dingaling Lab 4 - Jesus Built My Hotrod - Ministry), "It's 5am, do you know where your children are" (? - Theme from Discotheque)...all samples I had heard in industrial/ebm before hard house got them, I figured I would embark on a (one song) crusade!!! This is fast paced (for industrial), quite acidic, with a nice dark underlying feel, with the repetitive, distorted "Hellraiser" refrain keeping things dark. The break is almost trance like, and quite uplifting, and you wonder if this tune is heading off into real trance/euro-trance territory, it is almost too happy for an industrial/ebm tune, and slightly too long, but then the distorted vocals return to remind you that you are listening to a dark tune. CTW Members Mr Happy Posted April 16, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted April 16, 2003 blink - u know where i stand on vocals in hardhouse too many hardhouse producers r being lazy and remixing/resampleing old tunes - hard house isnt exactly a hard genre to producer either (compared to other genres) yet hh producers still take the easy option Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
