Is CTW becoming more 'business' instead of 'pleasure' ?

its not as good as it used to be lol

dunno if its just the novelty thing that has worn off for me (ie. CTW is no longer all shiny and new) but to be honest i'm becoming bored of the whole message board thing.

its not the people on it, not at all lol paranoid.gifwink.gif lol - apart from arranging nights out and stuff, a lot of the stuff on here is utter tripe, its always on here but there just seems to be more on here now.

to be honest i wouldn't worry james - it only a messageboard at the end of the day, if has a life of its own... you can tweak things around a bit but its the members that make it really.

probably me just being a miserable sod, but some of the fun seems to have gone from the board. could be like you say becoming more of a 'business' and not 'pleasure'. i knows its only a messageboard but try to keep a separation between the fun bit and the serious bit. otherwise the fun bit gets diluted.

compared to other messageboards i think yer doin a grand job, they are all involved in promotion now and have their own problems i'm sure. ctw is all about having fun so try and make sure that remains the focus, Avin' it smash.gif

i've said far far far too much already, its only a messageboard - we should all take life less seriously. keep t'up good work james

Point 1: It desperately needs diversion to cater for other members who are not into whats currently being offered.

Point 2: Too much is centred on the forums, posts are continuously missed.

Point 3: A weekly / monthly update of whats going on needs to be sent out to members with links on the email to go direct to the person organising it or the specific page involved. Directing the link to a post is pointless.

Point 4: A weekly / monthly club listing guide needs going up including Funky House / DnB / Trance / Progressive ( it may not be what most people like on here but its got to cater for everyone. )

Point 5: Cut down on the amount of individual forums, there are too many.

Point 6: Organised events need to be made public on the MAIN PAGE - not on a forum. And by this I mean dedicated MEMBER events - not clubbing ones.

Point 7: The site needs to appeal more to ALL genres - another SarahPVC is not going to appear unless we look for them.

Point 8: Certain Forums need re-arranging to make it clearer.

Lets make one thing clear, people dont slag it off, it means people give a [censored]. The people say that "its fine mate, well done" dont help because clearly there is other stuff to be done, you'll find most of it is constructive criticsm and if they didn't care they wouldn't bother saying. People are happy but lets be honest, it even half of what was origionally planned for this site. And you know that.

I'm quite frankly amazed that people supposedly working for / helping the site can only slag it off at times.

What about the other times, when everyone thanks one tho? Doesnt that make u feel good?

Moo makes a very good point (thank you for reminding me Drew). The site was created so i could meet a load of clubbing mates, its served it purpose and to have people like Hippy On A String come up to me like last Friday at Obliteration and praise me / thank me it makes it all worthwhile. I'm appy, and well looking forward to Ibiza thumbs.gif

Anyone who thinks i'm personally trying to make any money out of this is very much mistaken - "pats on the back" are FAR FAR more pleasing to me...

as kev said people do give a sht and care for ctw, not slagging it off!!!

james dont get rid of promotions cos dj's here rely on it a lot, just get it away completely from the forums as u said b4

all of your friends know there is no money or profit involved!!!

doing away with the unpostable forums for users such as official meetups and ctw/spinback is probably a very good move.

oddball - the messageboard was really only set up so people could arrange to meet up - like we did in the old days. I still only really use the board for this purpose and to post about what upgrades i've made to the board (for my own benefit mostly). What matters is who comes out and how well the night goes, and then commenting on this and everyone then arranging the next night out.

Most of the other forums were only added at MEMBER request.

I'm sorry but I am being critical because there is other stuff to be done on here to make it more appealing, this sites needs more diversity, I've been saying that for some time, certain things have been sitting on its arse for ages when really we should be pushing. Member meet-ups should be done properly to make this look a bit more professional, it NEEDS to made on the front page. ie:

Member meet-ups for Midlands: Clkick Here

Member meet-ups for London and the South: Click Here

and so on.

ClubTheWorld Social Events: Click Here

The message board is far too overloaded.

its all about striking a balance. you need the promotional side to keep people on the site... look at 4clubbers, guffy has just been signed to nukleuz due to their promotional work.

if CTW works hard maybe one of the dj's off here could become bigtime which would be good achievement.

Are there any volunteers out there who are prepared to do all this for NOTHING ?

We've been trying to find a 'SarahPVC' to promote Trance, Funky and other genres for a YEAR now - the fact is no one wants to do anything for nothing in this world anymore.

I would do it / would love to do it but i've run out of 'spare time' i'm afraid.

You must be stupid. Give me the tools and I'll do it. I am not organising anything official until theres a main page set up for it. Cue people that want to jump on the bandwagon, promise they'll do this, do that and basically do [censored] all.
