elliptical orbit

all the planets spin on an eliptical orbit. from what i gathered, it was the movement on the y axis that caused it to appear infront of the sun so infequently.

define your axes Laurence, you're in a 3d space and I'm confused.

Oh right, I get you. Is venus in the way of the sun at the moment then? Like a mini eclipse.

about 3 and a half hours ago it was. but obviously due to the diference in aspect ratio (i think thats the term for it), its not noticable unless your looking out for it

aye, if i remember rightly, Venus is a very light purply colour, you can see Mars too,as a light orangy colour, although i think its visibility is better in winter
