The build at about 2:40 sounds a little forced.

It all sounds a little formulaic (which usually irritates the shit out of me) but on this occasion there seemed to be enough ideas in there to make it work (although imo it is a little long for its content)

Admittedly Im not up on my hardstyle, but it feels more like an opening tune rather than a mid set / peek time anthem (which is probably why I liked it)

it isnt.

anything hard housish upwards is hard house.

even some hardcore is hard house with the pitch up.

fuck knows what hardstyle is, or the difference to that other new genre freeform.

its fast hard house or hardcore to me.

technotrancecore is where its at nowadays.

that or raggaclassicalcore

Venezuelan tech-garage-style is where it's at mate. But don't pitch it up above +3, otherwise it becomes industrial speed-threestep-core. Unless you attenuate the treble circa 6200Hz by +0.1dB -- that's where it starts to cross over with nu-hardbag.
