Guest
Guys, not being funny, but, there are a few Members getting a bit pissed off when posting mixes or asking for opinions on Mixes / Tunes and Genres, every other post is a post entailed with slatings / slagging off the initial post that was posted. Certain Members are getting a bit fed up of coming into the music forums as all they read is "it's sh*t / it's rubbish" and so on. There is no need to slate something if you don't like it. But posts just like that will, from now on, be deleted. It would be nice to read a thread on healthy discussions about music, rather than you all slating any kind of music.. Cheers dudes ! CTW Members LTM Posted June 10, 2004 Author CTW Members Share Posted June 10, 2004 Innit. This is a thread asking for feedback. i don't care if you think hardstyle is shit or not I think many genres are gash but I don't see the poin of entering one persons thread for feedback to tell him the genre is shit. That's really thought provoking thanks. Quote http://www.myspace.com/jamesdownie
CTW Members LTM Posted June 10, 2004 Author CTW Members Share Posted June 10, 2004 QUOTE (LiquidEyes @ Jun 9 2004, 09:51) Hardstyle isn't a proper genre. Discuss. Course it is, it's own crowd, it's own following, it's own events (Sensation Black 40,000 people in a football stadium) etc, etc. Dj's like Pavo, Luna, Dana, Deepack would hate to be called Hard House djs. If you wanna listen people go to www.soundclick.com/ltm click on music and listen to Voodoo Lord near the bottom of the tunes list. There are lots of tunes they get naffer towards the bottom cos they are well old and shit. Working on about 4 new tracks but I just can't be arsed to finish them at the mo. Most of it's recorded at around 138 bpm and has some very Trancey riffs in but of the harder kind. The basslines resemble those of Scot Project, Picotto (Old 'Whoomp' stylee) and Uberdruck. Then there are also the other factors found in Hardstyle you just don't find in Trance or Hardstyle. Like those multiple kick drums and common Hardstyle fx. Warmduscher - 10 Klien Bassdrums for instance. It's so unlike Hard House that we know off. And the basslines couldn't be anymore different. And the basslines couldn't be anymore different. but why cant some hardhouse be slower with a more intellegent beat pattern? theres no rule saying hardhouse *has* to be aprox. 150 bpm kick drum and predictable breakdowns. Organ Donars - 4Tribes thats hardhouse yet its not a kick drum or predictable. hardhouse has become so generic that producers creating something a little different feel the need to re-classify their output to avoid the stigma of being a hardhouse producer. which is fair enough if it gets them noticed. all i'm saying is look at the variation in the different styles of house, techno and trance and then look at the variation in hardhouse/ hardtrance and hardstyle. if these genres were to devide everytime someone thought up a new way to pioneer the sound, then there would be genre created every time a new record was released
CTW Members LTM Posted June 10, 2004 Author CTW Members Share Posted June 10, 2004 Hmmm. I can see your point however I'd definitely class the Original Mix of 4 Tribes as Techno. Quote http://www.myspace.com/jamesdownie
CTW DJs Ikon Posted June 10, 2004 CTW DJs Share Posted June 10, 2004 Hmmm, Im not getting drawn into the Hardstyle disscussion again. Read the topic I put up on the definition of Hardstyle a few months ago. As for the track, yeah I agree with Laurence it's more of a 'start of a set track' (Infact I may burn it off and start my set on friday night with it). The vocal sample is cool and the use of it in the track is exellent, maybe using the 'staggered' effect that Hardstyle producers use would of been a good idea. I think the breakdown is far to long though and I dont like the kick running right through it. It needs a little something more when it comes back in I think, I dunno the bassline doesnt sound meaty enough. Nice track though mate, keep it up! Quote Welcome to the Darkside!
