the people who most enjoy smoking

I am not denying smoking is a bad thing and unpleasant for those that smoke (and many of those that do).

when i started working 13 years ago, most people could smoke at work.......... so no matter where i worked i would have been around it

I really hope you don't think I am having a go...

 

blowing smoke in your face is only one example of how considerate many people can be much of the time.

 

I basically smoke when drinking and occasionally at home- I hate the smell of nicotine of my fingers, but equally I don't mind so much people who chain smoke smoking in my house so long as there is some ventilation and they treat my flat with some respect.

 

I think the whole banning smoking in public places issue is far wider and really should encompass how you should legislate for legal addictive substances as well as illegal addictive ones...

but i would appreciate the non smoking policy at bars made a law instead of up to brewerys discression, after all its not them that has to deal with it 8 hours a day 6 days a week and it would be even better if pubs had a smoking & non smoking room......they used to years ago (im talking grandparents time here )

 

at least non smokers would have the choice & smokers would have somewhere to smoke instead of going outside.

 

 

think it all comes down to choice.......but non smokers are not given a choice, they have to put up & shut up or not go out.

 

as for the addictive issue..... we are all responcerble for the choices we make, thankfully i havent got an addictive nature, i can go 7 days without a ciggie & it wouldnt bother me, but why should we all suffer the consiquensis (sp?) of the addicted smoker, i dont feel the physical effects of crack addict or an alcoholic why should my health suffer because a nicotine addict needs a fix...... ( i know that sounded really harsh but i tried wording it different but it wasnt working )

non smokers are discriminated against at work

 

they don't get a ciggie break once an hour

 

us lot have to work between breaks
