ok, i havent really slated anyone off before i think.

but i dont see whats wrong with telling someone there music is shite as long as its done in a constructive fashion.

Since you dont want people to be under the illussion that something is good if it is crap.

People are posting there work for critism and praise, and if they cant handle the heat then they shouldn't be posting it.

But i do think critism should only be constructive, and not just 'shit' etc.

I put the post up because what I read today, was in no way a constructive fashion when slating the genre / tune / mix.

Nuthead, i agree with what you ar saying, however, as you say, maybe members could, possbly think a wee bit before commenting, it is all in the wording IMO, ok if you dont like it, say, quite simply, I dont like it, IMO, the rift does not sound right etc etc, not *ITS SHIT!!* & then go off on a tangent as to how crap the said genre is or how it doesnt exsist. it does to many people & many like it too.

There is a difference between slating something, and giving good critisism - that is what i meant

 

As I said in my post, peopel are fed up of seeing "it's shit - it's crap" etcetera ... do you see ?

Maria - i think we have both agreed from the start it was just that the post when i first read it, didn't seem clear, as i saw slating as includin constructive critism, where i shouldn't have.

i always respsect decent critism but if someone was to say something was shit for instance, that doesn't help me fix the problems in the tune. If im enlightened on all the problems even with tips on how to make it better than thats great! no matter how many problems are found, below is an example of some reviews i got off other sites

Ok, got me hand on a trance tune!. To say this artist is new to FL studio, this is a v.good attempt.

 

for a 128k encoding, the sound quality is very respectable, although overall, the tune does have some mixing issues.

 

Melody wise, this offers what is a promising, and somewhat sweet melody, which could be developed into something so much more. At 2 mins long, with really only this melody going on. As stated, this is only a taster though.

Due to mixing issues, when the melody is in full swing with the trance synths, it drowns itself out.

 

Its promising, and I would like to hear a finished article.

 

Beat is pretty simple, but features a really nice kick drum, very clean.
