Didn't really have chance to read through all of the posts, but I think that I get the jist of it.

I don't really come on this site anymore, and the only reason is that I don't have a pc at home so have to use it in works time and be a bit sneaky.

I have known James and Creamy since they very first got this site up and running, and I have watched the whole thing elvolve, the days when there were only about 50 memebrs and we did meet up most weekends.

It has gone a bit too comercialised for my liking but I also undestand why this has happened due to the growth of interest in the site.

All I am gonna say is well done to James, I saw you from day one mate promoting the site in Garlands and I have to say that you work your ass off on here, but I also think that it has caused you so much stress hun as people do not realise the work that goes into it.

At the end of the day, it is just a mb, but I can also see why people get so worked up about things as I have done in the past.

To me, the purpose of CWT was to bring together people from all over to talk about, laugh about and meet up maybe and share their interest in clubbing.

Creamy does make some harsh comments, but he always has and as far as I can see they are always tongue in cheek, we would rip the piss out of each other and knew it was all a joke.

People need to chill a little, remember there is more to life ! x

sorry to drag this up but i never actually replied properly to your post, James, and thought i might as well do it now while i remember.

James said:

but it's been small things up until now -- meet-ups, colourscheme, logos

I personally think meet-ups are THE most important and major thing going on this site - its precisely why I created the site in the first place and what its meant to be doing today.

sorry this was badly worded - what I meant was that up until now, most of the suggestions have been rather trivial, such as the layout of meet-up details, or things like that.

clubtheworld is slipping away from being of benefit to its members first and foremost

I personally think the site can be of great benefit to everyone - including clubbers & DJs - what we have here though is just an engine, its up to you how you use it.

of course, but what i was saying is that i think regular members seem to now benefit less than they used to. promoters and DJs see how the value of such a close-knit community could advance their career or bank balance.

this site is a soft touch towards spam and self-promotion

it was after going on all the other clubbing message boards i realised that no one allowed this. i thought many boards were being narrow minded about this concept, i´m beginning to wonder if i am.

aye. it's a major point. spam can totally kill a message board, and the number of times there's blatant posts on here like "COME TO MY NIGHT", although it's starting to be modded a bit better, so that's good.

the members can read through all the event threads and make up their own mind where they are going.

fair enough, they can, of course. but when you've got "board DJs" playing at an event, that's unfairly influencing it somewhat.

its now myself and kev´s task to get back to getting to new areas and putting the fun back into the meets and making them different. this leaves sarah to concentrate on organising the ctw events and dj side.

i don't really think CTW needs an events and DJ side. it should be a community of clubbers who want to go to the best nights across the country, not a community of DJs wanting to further their careers or an organisation which runs its own nights. but this is just personal opinion.

we want to put on our own nights and we want to back member DJs.

(including this to show that what i just said is personal opinion)

i would urge you sample a few meets and then make a decision whether we are for you or not.

that's not being debated. i know that CTW is more or less what i had expected it to be, i've met some quality people on the site and been to a few meet-ups, i'm not going to stop doing that. what i will make sure i question in future is whether i go to CTW's own "nights" just because it has the CTW name on the thread title.

i was under the impression you travelled not just for this club,

i had to make the decision between EITHER damnation OR sundissential. i chose the "official" CTW night. so in terms of clubbing yes i travelled just for that night. although i managed to tie it in with a visit to the folks, but i had literally just gone back up to uni seven days earlier -- so if it hadn't have been for the CTW night i wouldn't have bothered coming back to Wakey.

its the people i go out to see now, not so much the big name DJs.

that's partially the case for me as well -- there's a good few people who i want to see again soon, whether that's at a meet-up or whatever.

so as the site becomes focused on running its own nights and promotions, the original aim slips into second or third priority.

no, myself and Kev are going to re-focus back on the original intentions and the members and Sarah is going to focus on the ctw events and backing our own member DJs - which is what we all want according to many older posts and the original members.

fair enough.

new members join in local areas who aren't really committed to travelling at all, or going to clubs

agreed - we´re really after people who will travel and will go to lesser known events.

i'm glad you agree with this -- there's been a good few people joining the site who just come on for the banter. i would say getting rid of Random Bollocks wouldn't be a bad thing to get the site back focused on its goals, but i think that might be a bit extreme, and as far as i can remember i think we've been there before haven't we?

for me the site is meant to reflect who i am and what i what out of life - a chance to do something a bit different and right for once. of course i take this personally, but why should this be a bad thing ?

good point well put. i'm sure taking it "personally" is probably not the word i should be using, i was more intending to mean that i didn't want you to take the criticism of the site as a failure on your part -- it's merely what you're always asking for, criticism, comments and suggestions.

i really appreciate you taking the time to compose that reply, especially as my post might have seemed a little harsh while you're on holiday -- the stuff that i haven't quoted or replied indicate that i agree with what you're saying, or that i accept what you're offering as an explanation for what's going on. this is a rushed reply on my part also (not my PC here) so there might be some errors or whatever.
