I have heard some incredible stuff, but I have also heard some very dull stuff. I have been to nights where I swear they had exactly the same 16th-note bassline i think, as you said, that the same is true of all music. i know people who are, say, prog house heads and they love it. they check out a couple of shitty psytrance tunes and decide that psytrance is shitty. what do they expect. there's good and bad in all genres. that said, i think the reason i like pstytrance so much is that the good stuff is simply sublime. alasdair Quote "I've got medication, honey. CTW Promotors CreamyC Posted June 12, 2003 CTW Promotors Share Posted June 12, 2003 What does annoy me and its this age old arguement of some people assume trance is the [censored] you get on Smash Hits, The Box and even Kiss on Sky but let me make it clear ITS NOT. The following is not trance, I repeat NOT Trance: Scooter Ian Van Dahl DJ Sammy etc. And I am also totally against the idea of the likes of Paul Van Dyk going commnercial selling CD Singles. CTW Members Phil rr Posted June 12, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 12, 2003 the perfect sphere remix (blah blah...) of castles in the sky is v passable tho... there is a dif between releasing something as a single, and selling out tho. (revolution - it's all great being hardcore and keeping music within the scene to an intense few-thousand fanbase, but releasing it onto the charts gets it to a wiiiiiiider audience and more recognition..) CTW Members Phil rr Posted June 20, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 20, 2003 i think 'nightclubs' will always cater for the beerboy crowd, but the ppl into the scene will always know about the decent music. i'm not sure if HH is higher profile than trance..."them lot" only go by the albums that come out, there'v ALWAYS been cheese albums and decent albums, that's y u need to go for the euphorias and the clubs own releases and not 'best dance album in the world ever' - cheese albums have been doing the rounds for years! if one kind of dance music really does get a bad name it'll stop being played, hasn't happened yet =)
CTW Promotors CreamyC Posted June 23, 2003 CTW Promotors Share Posted June 23, 2003 CERTAIN Ignorant people INSIST that Trance is the [censored] that is DJ Sammy - its not. Thats what gives it a bad name. Who are these people that say this ? hmmmmm ....
