Mauro Picotto - New EP !!!!

Have just received a wee sneaky copy of Mauro's new EP on CDR, It is his 1st production since leaving Media/BXR and is entitled The Alchemist EP. It will be released some time in July on Primate.

 

Personally i have to say that its his best work to date. Still his trademark sound but sounding fresher.

The main track on the EP is an absolute peak time belter with super production and some good use of samples. A definate 3am tune!

But for me the best track on the EP is entitled "New time, New place" This adds an awesome riff to a blinding techno work out. Some how in this track you can hear that Mauro is glad to be in a new time and a new place, this ep sounds as if its a massive weight off his shoulders.

 

You must check it, will be in my box for the entire summer and maybe beyond.

Oooh i liek the sound of this m8y, although i'm known for playing hardhouse/hardtrance when given different time slots/location etc i [censored] love Picotto style music, chunky and full-on madness, Been following him for years, find him an inspiration and a very taleted producer, so will deffo be checking this out!

i used to be really up 2 date on BXR but it obviously shows that i'm not ne more as i hadnt a clue he left

The last time i spoke to Ferg, he had just had Mauro on his show. Basically Mauro thought he had gone as far as he could with BXR, and felt a little restricted in the boundries that he had been confined to. After the success of tracks like the lizard, iguana, komodo etc his new (more techno) sound was well received but shifted nowhere near as many units.

 

Peronally i think this is the best move he couldve made, Primate is a well established label (with artists such as Marco Bailey, Danilo vigorito, etc) and one that will let Mauros now trademark techno sound flurish.
