CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted June 26, 2003 Author CTW Members Share Posted June 26, 2003 Actually I was only half-joking about liking those tunes. Just thought I'd prove I'm not really a total music snob! I just thought it would be interesting to see how many people hate all "cheesy" music as a rule... I don't mind good pop music as long as it doesn't take itself seriously. It's artists like Ugly Spice (Mel C) and So Toss Crew that get on my tits, because they talk about their pop nonsense as if it's serious music. I do realise that those DJ Sammy tunes are cover versions, yes I prefer the original of "Boys of Summer", but I'd rather listen to DJ Sammy than some cheesy rapper with a hard-man / homeboy image who steals cheesy riffs and raps cheesy nonsense over the top. I don't like DJ Sammy as trance music (it's the sort of thing that gives trance a bad name) but I do like it as pop music. They are good songs. And yes, DJ Sammy is a talentless plagiarising git. As for those 2 Christina Aguilera songs, I love them! "Dirty" is well funky and has quality production.
