Rick, what exactly is wrong with Halliwell?

 

I was seriously impressed when I saw him at Slinky in Bournemouth. He played a very energetic, yet diverse set, right across the board. Just what the doctor ordered. And the scratching was well-used without being overly in-your-face / reeking of novelty value.

 

Admittedly I did hear him do a so-so set on Radio 1, some of it was good but he played some very naff hard trance (suppose some people like that stuff) and some overly minimal techno (again just my opinion). I guess it depends on the crowd he's playing to.

 

I can understand people criticising him if he [censored] up, but to be fair, technically he's a lot more ambitious than many other acclaimed DJs, so that's what you get.

 

Loads of my fave DJs have messed up at some point. I've even heard the much-revered PvD do a very sloppy mix, big deal! As long as they don't do it all the time.
