but, and I know this is contradictory, since my dad died, I have found myself talking to him....I went out to visit the tree we had dedicated to him on Tuesday night, and had a bit of a chat.

It's nearly 4 years since i lost my father, there's not a day that passes that i dont think of him, sometimes i find myself talking to him, in my many states of confusion so i know what your saying Blink

I'm not scared of death in the slightest - I'm actually looking forward to it in some way, but in no rush for it obviously as I have things to do here first.

 

I am fairly scared of catching some horrible disease or a slow death but I'll cross that bridge if/when I come to it. I'm hoping that people wont pump me full of drugs to try and keep me alive - would rather let things take their natural course if I'm say 60+ (ok, thats another debate lol)

 

I DO believe in afterlife and I do believe you never actually die. Only your body decomposes - its just the engine - and you get a nice new brand spanking new one in the next phase/life/world/sector (and not necessarily the same design obviously, I expect it will be more enhanced with additional senses etc... - kind of a reward for progressing to the next level - obviously you can drop levels too though, beware)

 

I have a [censored] load of thoughts on afterlife and exactly what this whole game plan/test is, if you wanna talk to me when out...

I think we need to decide upon whether we/the universe is here / been created for a reason.

 

If there is no reason and its all one big accident then yes I guess its quite possible that there is nothing after this life

Why would anyone want to go to heaven, its full of all the worlds suck ups and loosers. Hells where its happening.

Thats just chemical and electrical processes that take place as with everything in your body, spirit isn't anything but a process, nothing magical or religious about it. When you die your chemical and electrical activites have ceased and your body (and spirit) decompose.

 

Whilst this is a fairly good argument I dis-agree.

 

I personally think that there is a [censored] load more going on than just your body/chemicals/matter. You FEEL alive - I cant describe it - its like another sense - nothing to do with what your brain conjures up.

 

I really do feel that my body is just an engine - its not ME

I fail to see how chemical and electrical processes of the brain would magically go and loiter in some other plain of existance at the whim of some "creator".

 

The Universe is just an expanse of atoms of no particular relevance or meaning.

how are you so sure its pointless ?

 

I must admit that as humans we feel that everything needs to have a point and this is perhaps wrong.

 

But I do have this 'gut feeling' (nothing I have been taught/seen) that there really is a point to the universe.
