Iv got it but at the moment i am being taught fruityloops studio 4, i also do have acid pro 4 and reason but ill try and learn them once i have mastered fruity!!

if you master fruity there really is no point changing applications unless you find the one you are using to be lacking in some area..

i dumped cubase in favour of logic audio platinum just after cubase 5 came out (after using cubase since my atari days).. i hate all the windows that you have to deal with in cubase... its so messy its untrue... they didnt even tidy it up for cubase sx..

theres no way id go back to cubase after using logic

Actually, i have logic too (u just jogged my memory lol) i was talkin to ben and he told me Logic is the way to go well his precise words were "the clue is in the name - its logical" so maybe i should take his advice and have a go with logic also... worth a shot, mind if i pick ur brains sometime if i decide to have a go? smile.gif

have to say i do like logic, but for some unkown fookin reason it won't work on my puter anymore cry.gif. Some of the bundled synths that come with the latest versions are pretty impressive thumbs.gif.

Altho even if i could get it workin i wouldn't be using iti can worka lot faster and easier in fruity, so thats where i'll be staying

you need me i'm magic E, hehe

Just wondered if anyone else uses it?

Been using Cubase for quite a few years now; recently upgraded from VST to SX.

I have come to like it, but only through immense patience and perseverence! The learning curve isn't too bad, but the interface is a bit sluggish (even now!) To be fair it's about 20x more stable these days; Cubase VST used to crash all the time but SX is miles better.

I used to resent the hefty price tag of VST because of the reliability issues, but now I am much happier with the overall standard of the product.

I don't recommend it to anyone unless they genuinely need the power it offers. I do, so I'm sticking with it. But there are plenty of cheaper, easier-to-use, albeit more minimal sequencers / trackers / loop making programs.

Personally I think Fruityloops (to experiment with ideas) and Cubase SX (to arrange the tune "properly") are a quality combination. thumbs.gif

thats remarkably organised James!

Cubase us a cunt sometimes, it seems so stupid sometimes how its organised, the menus, the functions, but I guess once you learn it properly, it is a solid program

better learn it proper then rolleyes.gif
