Question- how do i create a gallery to post loadsa pics in

I have just got mt scanner sorted and have pics from SSN ages ago that I wanna scan in- how do I go about creating a gallery??

I'm going to set up an anonymous FTP account on the new box (once we're over) but you will have to know how to use FTP / have an FTP client installed. I dont really want people emailing them to me as its un-reliable and delays all my other emailing coming through, or even fills my inbox up (ooo err).

 

I will post details about FTPing once we've fully over to the new server.

 

If you have the 'odd pic' you can email them to me but please resize them to 800x600 max resolution first (i.e. the size the pics are in the gallery)

Well I'm gonna be taking a few at GG with my new toy.

 

Is there a way of saving them to the PC and just uploading the whole folder to a website instead of uploading each one?

yep - with FTP

 

free ones include SmartFTP (my favourite free one)

 

you can also download trial versions of CuteFTP which is very good.

 

go to someone like www.tucows.com and search for FTP - you will find dozens of FTP clients

 

I can help you configure it if you've not used one before.

 

Then you can upload single files or entire folders, including sub-folders etc...

 

If you are going to upload 50+ photos then I would seriously recommend only doing this with a broadband connection otherwise your PC could be uploading for like 2 hours on a 56k modem connection.

 

The other way, if you've got tons of photos, is to put them on a CD and mail them to me (PM me for address), or give them to me at one of the meet-ups.
