I think people are discussing it primarily because: 1. it involved 5 people--a relatively high number 2. they were quite young which is tragic in itself and makes it quite possible that members of a UK clubbing website could actually know them and 3. they all [censored] died. The point is, Jon, as you must already be aware, very few threads within these forums ever discuss events of this nature so, obviously, this is an isolated example--one being discussed precisely because of it the reasons above and its extremely tragic nature. Your comments really just speak to your ignorance and overreaching need to be an iconoclast (for whatever reason) and maintain an archly cynical attitude toward basically everything which I'm assuming you think is cool. But it's not, so sorry.

I don't disagree that some people are fake, but deffinately not everyone. Bullying the honest amongst them isn't going to get positive results.

 

Saying "My thoughts...." is just a phrase (over used in my opinion) like the use of "At the end of the day" but it doesn't mean the person saying it is lying through their teeth.

Frankly i hadn't heard this piece of news until now and i'm shocked. I live close to Leeds, my bf works in Leeds (and his family live there) so it's pretty close to home.

 

Yes, i agree that if u drive like a loon then you've got to expect the consequences, however, there was only ONE driver in that car. The others were mere passengers, and kids at that!

 

I know on many occasions i've been in a car with a driver who's been showing off (an ex-ex boyfriend) and despite my screams of trying to get him to slow down he just thought i was a wuss. So at the next set of lights i'd get out of the car. Maybe these kids didn't get the chance to do that.

 

It's tragic, and it's close to home for many of us on here, and just because some of you don't care, that doesn't mean that those of us who DO express that it's upset us are making it up!

 

So if you don't like to discuss this particular serious topic then sod off to another section and stop slagging us off.

theres prolly less parents having to bury their children in this country than ever b4.. modern medicine and all that..

 

tragic this accident was... i really dont get the point of posting it on here... seems like someone was trying too hard to find something to post in the serious issues and debates... although it has caused a debate (for the wrong reasons) i dont think it brings up any issues. it was a silly accident nothing more or less.

I think this is the first post that has truely disgusted me on this site. My first thought when I heard the news was "[censored], was that anyone from CTW", followed by "[censored] does anyone from CTW know these people" (I was thinking of Sarah specifically then.)

 

People have come on, shouting off about how little they give a [censored] about those kids who died without knowing the facts, and without giving a bit of time for events to be filtered through. And have ANY OF YOU STUPID FUCKS REMEMBERED THAT NEON IS IN I.T.U AS I WRITE THIS?

 

I have been through I.T.U after an RTA, and I hate to think what a post like this would have done to any of my family had they read it.

 

No-one is disputing whether it was stupid for them to be driving at that speed, but who has never taken a risk? [speeding, drugs, unprotected sex, jaywalking]
