dont understand how you can criticse it.... Im not the biggest Guyver fan, and have never pretended to be, but his remix is true to the original and does it justice imo!

Coming soon...

i'm not an overly big fan of this either, i thought the original was an amazing tune, but the guyver mix is almost identical, yes staying true to the original is ok but this is going a bit far. Someone on the bangintunes forum mentioned that it would have been a better idea to get someone with a slightly different style to remix it, say maddox perhaps, give it a more techy feel and a completely new perspective on the tune.

Anyway, these are just my thoughts, and obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinions

think ur spot on there tho m8

if sum1 writes a tune just how i would have written it then i cirtinally wouldnt release my version of the tune (altho i might still remix is 4 personal use)

To me, the whole point of getting someone to do a remix is to, as Si said, get someone to put a new perspective on the tune.

Whats the point of someone remixing it and it souunding like the original.

This really pisses me off as remixing is the easiest part of production. You have all the parts there and the original there for inspiration/guidance.

This is not acceptable for me

The point is, people are slating it and saying its not as good as the original..... it IS the original @ -8% lol

Im not saying about the style etc. but you cant say one version is good and the other isnt cos thats like saying you want to eat a banana, but dont like bananas (or sumat along those lines)

Aye, but my point is that, for me, its not acceptable for Guyver to churn out an almost identical mix to the original.

This is just plain lazy, If he didnt want to improve on, or change the original, then he shouldnt have done the remix.

Thing is, Guy was in a no-win on this one... Half the people said he shouldnt touch it, the rest said he should but keep true to the original... what was he supposed to do??

Not only that, but Lab4 themselves have given the thumbs up to the remix so its their fault, not guys that its gonna go ahead surely??

so if i asked guyver to do a remix then he has to whether he wants to or not and it will be my fault if the output is shite?

also y should it matter what others wanted him to do prior to the remix? surely if its his reputation on the line then he should do what he thinks is best rather then what others tell him they think is best shrug.gif

Where can I hear both mixes? 8% is quite a big speed difference!

For example you can't just slow down a hard house track and expect it to sound good - generally the slower something is, the more funk you have to put into it, otherwise it will sound very dull and plodding!

Lab 4 said they wouldnt allow any mix which wasnt as great as the original to be released.... Guy just made a more accessible mix (the orig is a c*nt to mix out of cos of the way it finishes) and Lab4 said it was ok..

I wouldnt have accepted it if I was releasing it, but im not a label owner, nor am I lab4... Its their choice, and I can guarantee it will still sell shitloads now that lab4 are 'cool' laugh.gif

But Chris, I question Guys integrity for agreeing to do a remix like this. If Lab4 approached me and said what you have stated, I would tell them to go and [censored] themselves up the arse with rusty screwdriver.

If they were so anal about how they wanted the remix to sound, then they shouldve done it themselves under a different name.

I dont know all the facts so wont make any judgements on either party.

I wouldnt work like this, if I were commissioned to do a remix. I would do what I wanted, if they liked it cool, if not then get someone else.

lol, there's no way I would've said no to Lab4 if they asked me to do a remix!!!

I really can't see why ppl are making such a massive deal out of this...Guy's job is to produce tracks...he was told what to do and he did it...can't see any harm in that..And above all he did a remix which complimented the original...and this makes it mroe accessible....and how can that be a bad thing ?
