CTW Members Capn Jack Posted July 31, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted July 31, 2003 A bit off topic, but... Did anyone hear about one if the major Spam senders? He has for years bombarded peoples inboxes with spam of varying content. Recently some people managed to track down his home address and posted it on their website encouraging people to sign him up for junk mail. Hundreds of people took on the challenge. The spammer over the coming weeks after his address was posted, recieved thousands upon thousands of junk mail. So much so that they were delivered by the van full of sacks of junk mail. A bit of an eye for an eye story. I'll post the link when I find it again, the stories worth a look. lol. Quote I don't do much on this planet, but David Blaine has taught me that I could do less!! Yeah, basically you probably have stuff called 'Spyware' on your PC which is causing the popups to happen. My advice is to download a free program called Ad-Aware 6 from www.download.com which should solve your problem. What it does is searches your HD for anything that shouldn't be on there and asks you to delete what it finds. Should sort that out mate. I get no messenger pop-ups when my firewall is up, and when I take it down to allow file sharing, I get pop-ups. make of that what you will.
