Is this any good? I might buy it. You can use it with Reason 2.5 to give you two more synths and a new drum machine I think.

its a roland 808, 909 and 303 emulator

the first prog propellerheads did i think.

not worth the effort nowadays... get yourself some decent VST plug ins instead.

That's what I was considering getting it for they were saying on Trance.nu how Rebirth is top for swirling acid lines. You can get some good acid lines on Reason 2.5 with the synths but there is alot of fucking around to get the right sounds I could do with something a bit more straight forward.

I used to use Rebirth (before I bough my first 'proper' synth). It is fun but very limited.

You're fucked if you want to do remotely complex melodies, or make your own programs outside a certain restricted spectrum of sounds.

I should think it will seem pretty lame after using Reason, from what you say about Reason. Having said that, this was a good 5 years ago, so Rebirth may have come a long way since then...?

Hmm. Might as well get a decent soft synth plug-in then? Nearly every synth (hard or soft) I've ever used can recreate the basic 303 type sounds.

I think the latest version is Rebirth 2.1 I think, I have heard the demo sounds on the Propellerheads website the swirling 303s had a really squealchy, bassy sound to it and a lot of presence.

rebirth is ancient and if 2.1 is teh current version then it hasnt been updated in a long time - easy to use and great for acid lines but not much else

i'd personally stick with vsti's but thats cos im no fan of acid lines

I'm not bothering with it now I've been messing around with Reason 2.5 and I discovered the most obvious way of creating acid lines and warping basslines. It's all about wacking up shift and mod nobs full blast in the mod wheel section in Malstrom and then automating the wheel.
