This morning we were on platform 6 when an announcement is made that the 8.07 is going to leave from platform 4 instead. Everyone starts winging and running up the stairs to get over to the other platform. Once everyone was across another announcement was made about a train coming in on platform 4 to the same destination. Everyone starts swearing and winging and bitching and slagging off the station staff for not having a clue what is going on. Everyone races up the stairs, pushing, shoving - acting like selfish kids/animals. I'm not being funny but some of the stress levels from some of the women were dangerously high. I mean, WHY do people get so wound up ? Anyway, everyone eventually made it over back to platform 4, pushed, shoved and squeezed themselves onto the hot/packed/sweaty train for their journey to London Euston. When the annoucement was made about the train on platform 4 I however stood still and smiled whilst I watched the comotion and arguing and got on the fast train at platform 4 and got a seat in a very empty train. There were TWO trains. I'm 100% certain people will still be winging about 'this mornings service / cockup' - completely un-aware that it was THEY who were in the wrong. So 2 things - 1) calm the [censored] down people 2) why do you have to assume its always someone else at fault 3) STOP following the [censored] crowd and think for yourself for a change !
