At the same time there has been tunes that have been protected from going commericial, can you imagine TDV I dont care on top of the pops? that's why it is not on CD. It's far from selling out to the cheese

Interesting point here that might make you wanna reconsider that statement...

Back when it was first released on Jumpwax, Pete Tong was playing it on his radio1 show....

I wont retract what Ive said because It is correct.

We are not talking about Jumpwax, their hold on it nor 5 years ago here. It is protected from production today. Fact.

Your point is not coming across very clear at this end.

3 or more 12" vinyls of each

cd single of each

I also believe 'what ya got 4 me' hit top 40....

Tidytrax arent claiming to be the 'sound of the underground'. What underground these days?

What you got 4 me, far to many remixes of it I must admit.

You will get shifts in style, you will get crossovers and sometimes the charts will snap it up. It happens across the board.

I am not saying watered down tracks hitting the top 40 is a good thing, to me, it goes against what the music is all about, but it doesn't threaten the scene either imo where the real music can be found.

THATS MY POINT THOUGH lol

As much as it would be great if it were a reality, love of music doesnt put food on the table - producers have got to make a living and if a track sells well and is successful then fair play to them!!

THERE IS NOT A SINGLE STYLE OF 'Hard Dance' which doesnt have commercial/crossover appeal so forget any ideas about some mysterious 'underground' - it doesnt exist.... if you want underground, go to an acid techno squat rave - The simple fact is, you can buy hardhouse, hardtrance, trance etc in HMV - it has commercial appeal not because its watered down, but because there are so many DJs playing it that the scene has exploded way beyond the small/intimate parties that used to be held!

As for 'going against what the music is about' - if you like dance music because its not always in the top40 then you into it for a very wrong reason im afraid...

Well, let's not forget who the Stimulant DJs are: Brisk and Ham. Have been known for the odd cheesy hardcore tune when the scene went sour in the late 90s. There remix of shootinh star would have been better without the vocals. Oh hang on, would'nt that make it not Shooting Star? haha, oh well.

Maximum respect to the Stimulant DJs though, have done some wicked tunes over the years. DJ Ham has been responsible for some wicked breakbeat tunes!
