CTW Members Sweet Posted August 11, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 11, 2003 A Letter from a Iowan mother to her son Son, I am writing this real slow, cuz I know that u cannot read very fast. We don't live where we did we u left. Your daddy read in the paper that most accidencts happen with 20 miles of home, so we moved. I won't be able to send u the address cuz the last Iowan family that lived here took the #'s off the house and took them with them for their next house, so they wouldn't have to change their address. This place has a wash-machine. The 1st day I put your shirts in, pull the chain and I ain't seen 'em since! It only rained 2 times this week. 3 days the first time and 4 days the second time. You know that coat you wanted me to send you? Well, Aunt Hilda said, it would be to heavy to send in the mail with them heavy buttons on it, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets. We got another letter from the funernal home. They said if we don't make the last payment on gramma's funeral bill; up she comes. Your sister had a baby this a.m. I ain't heard whether it is a boy or girl so I don't if you're an uncle or an aunt. Your uncle John fell in the whiskey vat. Some men tried to pull him out, but he fought them off so he drowned. We creamated him and he burned for 3 days. Three of your friends went off the bridge in a pick-up. One was driving, the other two was in the back. The driver got out. He rolled the window down and swam to safety. The other two drowned cuz they couldn't get the tailgaite down. There is not much news this time, nothing much has happened. love, mom Quote ================================================ **Nunc scio quit sit amor."Lat.
