CTW Members Scream Posted August 11, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 11, 2003 but the only way for something to spread in messenger is through a direct connection. Oh wait, the pics, we need to now if the pics we recieve from user to user is a direct connection, this would be an exploit in transfer data, HOWEVER most virus killers would be aware of a dodgy file, because of standard code syntax. But if so why wasn't i infected with this problem?
CTW Members Capn Jack Posted August 11, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 11, 2003 I haven't a clue, just guessing on my part. Its a strange fault/virus, it seems Microsoft have been aware of it, to get a fix out. Quote I don't do much on this planet, but David Blaine has taught me that I could do less!! CTW Members innitman2 Posted August 11, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 11, 2003 Right then ppl, someone requested me to post a way of removing this annoying virus so here goes : 1.Press CTRL ALT DEL for Task Manager and then find Msblast.exe, right click on it and click end proccess, you will get a warning, just click yes. 2.Click start, search. Then on the left click I want to search all files and folders. Type in msblast.exe and start searching. You should find 2 files in the results. Select them both and click delete and then empty the recycle bin. 3.Click start, run, type regedit. Work your way through to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ Then on the right look for Windows Auto Update, if you find msblast in any of that key delete the key and then exit Registry Editor. 4.Click start, run, type msconfig, you will see a System Config Utility, click the Startup tab, look for msblast.exe. Untick it and click apply then click ok and restart the computer. The virus should now hopefully be removed.
