It went totally against what was expected from them. It was totally a new sound, and is their best album, the new one is better but no one will have heard it yet i loved fat of the land as well just cuz it didnt sumthin that shouldnt have been done. (the merging of rock and dance) and even now only a few artists are experiments in merging the 2 fields and not to the same extent that prodigy did. That's bollocks, it had already been done way before Fat of the Land, maybe not in the mainstream, but it had. There's loads of Rock/Metal groups that were crossing-over into Hip-Hop and funk etc. And what about the Chemical Brothers, are you saying there's no Rock influences in their music ? Fat of the Land was mediocre, especially after the genius of Music For the Jilted Generation. It's one of my all time favourites. And the album's not that old Alison, I've got all 3 of them on CD Quote Fred The Baddie Email: FredTheBaddie at ClubTheWorld dot com MSN: Fox_Raynard at hotmail dot com I am not part of any majority -- Now in my MP3 player : Agnelli & Nelson - Holding on to Nothing --

I have no probs with that. Personally I think all chemical bros albums have been mediocre. For me Fat of the land took it to a higher level. CTW Members FredTheBaddie Posted August 15, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 15, 2003 Not really, I didn't say I liked the Chemical Brothers, just that the Prodigy weren't the first/only rock/dance cross-over.
