The only problem is when your in a club and some tw@t plays his/her last tune from cd - NOTHING pisses me off more then people who do that.... if you dont know the track, you cant judge how/when its gonna drop, and where best mixing points are......please dont do that to people....ever laugh.gif

i don't understand this comment. would you elaborate. are you talking as a consumer/dancer or as the next DJ in line?

ganna have to agree its such a bitch cause ya dont know where and when the tunes ganna build down and when to drop it it's very frustratiing ! as you said !!

especially when you havent heard the tune before

if you haven't heard the tune before, why does it make a difference if it's on CD or vinyl - is the problem CD-specific?

please explain.

thanks

I didn't say that they didn't have their place as obviously they do, getting tunes straight off producers from the studio, but I think they make the 'anybody can be a dj' even more true.

indeed. DJs should be happy about your last point because it will demonstrate that any monkey may be able to spin records - it takes a true DJ to understand that there's a lot more to DJing than simply mastering the art of matching and mixing...

I meant when you follow on as the next DJ..... its a lot harder to judge a track that you have never heard before on cd then it is on vinyl.....

Alistair - It's cos you can't see the grooves in the CD like you can in a record.

For example, a record has like "darker bits" where the breakdowns are, and you can see how longon you have left in terms of where the tune starts dying out, so you can kinda judge where to mix the next tune in, even if you don't know it.

Hope that's clear(ish)!

Ali.

I'M HUNGRY!
