CTW Members tidy_bitch Posted August 14, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 14, 2003 And i wanted to know if anyone knows of any good academys around. I know its the easy way out but i only want to learn the basics just to get me started, maybe do a 1 day course or something.
CTW Members Claire DC Posted August 14, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 14, 2003 Theres loadsa lil helpful bits online, i dont think "dj schools" are all that great from what iv heard, probably better teachin urself, just practice loads!! A tutorial my mate did is here u might be interested in that as it explained very well in my opinion. Im sure there's plenty of other tutorials about if you really needed them or people that would be willing to give u pointers about it rather than doin 1 day at a dj school which i dont think would benefit you. CTW Members Claire DC Posted August 14, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 14, 2003 Well i started with Sony shitty ones then about 4 months later got 1210s lol... (they been stolen now tho ) but if u want 1210s then get them, save a lil bit longer and get them cos otherwise ull end up wanting them a coupla months after and forkin about for new decks again and prob takeeven more time to get them when u could have just saved for an extra month and got what u wanted (if that makes sense? lol) Try ebay!! CTW DJs Tony P Posted August 15, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted August 15, 2003 think there is a good one called point blank. i personally think you are best asking friends how to show you and just practice practice practice. some good books too, like the 'how to DJ' one in HMV (at least thats what i think it's called)
CTW Members jackthelad Posted August 15, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 15, 2003 'how to DJ properly' is the title of the book and its wiked. Explains from the very basics of tecnical skills to promoting and all the other stuff u need to do to be a succesful dj. I am recomending it big time! CTW DJs LittleMissLoud Posted August 15, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted August 15, 2003 I was having a look at this book the other day, and it is really clear, and explains all you need to know. Also, in back of DJ mag, there are adverts for DJ schools, ranging from one-off lessons, to courses. Good Luck girl Quote I'M HUNGRY!
