Do I need software like active server for asp, for php? im hosted on a linux box and need to educate myself in php rather then asp.

 

just on the basics at da mo so...

well if you're on linux then you're gonna go the PHP root, you can get mods for asp to work on say apache or linux but asp is wank in my eyes.

 

But to program in php you just type it into notepad if you really want. You can get some editors out there that will colour code the code which is bloody useful if you're doing huge amounts of code. I use EditPlus it's a pretty boshank program.
