Guest
Agreed, with Cunted! I started using 1210's and wouldn't use anything else, you get what you pay for at the end of the day, but i'd suggest saving for Technics, the industry standard when all said & done!! But it all boils down to money & preference!

If you bought decks and decided you liked it, you would only end up needing to upgrade later anyway!

CTW Members luke revival Posted August 23, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 23, 2003 Technics all the way. If you get cheaper ones you'll get to a standard and then stop! Thing is, you might get realy good on em and love it, but if you went to a club to play where you'd be nervous anyway it'd be really hard gettin' used to the new decks (technics!)... I always advise technics!

CTW Members 2tribes Posted August 30, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 30, 2003 Seeing this thread has turned into a technics non technics arguement i'll put in my pennies worth! I started on crappy soundlabs shite but let me know if i wanted to continue without paying loads of cash! Upgraded to Technics because there "industry standard"! Obviousley much better then soundlabs and thought i liked them to i began using vestax decks in my friends record shop! They are the silkiest decks a real pleasure to play with! Recently at Point blank studios i had the honour of playing around with the numarks and for the price they are actually really nice decks! To say that using technics is best because they are industry standard is a bit false for me because ive never played on different 1210/s that feel the same as the last! Ecspecialy when playing out when the technics are dictated in quality by the amount of fag ash and red bull that has been painted with! So there you go! Try and test decks and see what you like best! I'm sure i've offended lots of technics lovers but they you go!
CTW Members tommy Posted August 30, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 30, 2003 Trancebabe: tt100's are pretty nice. Ave em ! I haven't got 1210's and I get on alright.
CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted August 30, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 30, 2003 Technics are not the best. But they are the industry standard. There's virtually no point getting anything else unless you need the extra features. And that's coming from a guy with Vestax decks (which are technically slightly better). Don't get dodgy cheapo / belt drive decks. You will end up ditching them!
