Your rarest / most precious record

After reading Chris Hutch's post about a rare tune he bought, I thought I'd start a thread on it.

 

What is your rarest or most precious vinyl in your collection ??

 

Can be rare / valuble as in not many made, limited etc. Or precious to you for another reason, its up to you.

 

For me its:

 

Rare = Prodigy "Paranoid Android" test pressing.

Its very valuable, even the full release of it was very limited but this is a white label given to me by Liam Howlett as a present.

 

Precious to me = My first production on Vinyl, The Guv'nors "Busted" (Purgatory Test Pressing)

Valuble to me for obvious reasons.

I got given that Lisa Pin-Up picture disc, where she is sat on a record box naked, think that might be worth a bit, and maybe some of me old garage, but nothing really springs to mind!

He did - not a bad tune even if he did nick the hoovers from Doc Scott like every other hh producer :-)

Rarest 2 12" dub plates given to me by Pete Tong. One tune was a solo effort by Yazz, called One true Woman which had 2 mixes - both unreleased, and the other was Sheryl Jay - Let The Beat Hit 'Em. Again, 2 unreleased mixes.

 

Most precious My copies of Enforcers 1 and 2 on Reinforced Records. Both limited edition picture discs with E 1 only having 500 pressed, and E 2 having 750 presses. I've never seen another copy of 1, and only ever seen 3 copies of 2. I don't know if they're worth alot, but to me they're priceless.

Few that are pretty rare tho...

 

tdv 'i dont care' (original jumpwax test press with release sheet)

karim 'dont [censored] with me' (signed copy on see-thru orange vinyl)

jon the dentist 'global phases' (phase 4 mix on dream inn)

the project 'meltdown'

 

 

as for precious.....if anything ever happened to my copy of 'stuck on a space trip' I would contemplate slitting my wrists

Well me and a friend of mine, but its not something I like putting my name to really. We have both moved away from that. Neither of us even put our real names on the small print on the back of the Tidy sleeve. Amo and Lee were a bit confused.

i remember picking it up b4 tidy signed it - there was a 3rd tune on that vinyl as well wasnt there? might have to go and dig it out see how it sounds now...... maybe play 'busted' as encore tune @smile and see if you cringe

Thanks Sam, always good to hear people liked it. Means more to me than it getting signed to tidy tbh.

 

It was quite well received but Tidy never touched us again after that deal.

You did 'Backwards Bitch' as well?

 

I've got the review in mixmag that said it was by two Irish lads on an EP released over there and the two tracks were signed to Tidy.

 

Did you try and send more stuff to them after that?
