CTW Members alasdairm Posted September 17, 2003 Author CTW Members Share Posted September 17, 2003 it still surprises me, given all the talk of 'hard' music here, that more CTW people are not fans of psytrance. i found another track which, to me, is a good crossover between mainstream hard dance and psytrance. check it out - if you like it, there may be hope for you it's called sugar rush by man with no name man with no name is a venerable psytrance artist... alasdair Quote "I've got medication, honey. CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted September 18, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted September 18, 2003 I like a lot of psytrance Alasdair. Although, like hard house nights, I find it a little hit-or-miss trying to find really good psy nights that aren't overly-hard all night, or just far too minimal/samey. Having said that, my best psy nights have kicked seven shades of [censored] out of my favourite hard house nights.

Agreed, although people have different definitions of "hard", which I think is Alaisdair's point. To me, some 135bpm techno sound ten times harder than some 150bpm hard house. There's more to "hardness" than hoovers and a high BPM! As for the very fast stuff you are always enthusing about - I find a lot of that stuff cheesy. Maybe it's just an association thing, but beyond a certain BPM it sounds a bit silly to me (unless you have broken beats like in drum and bass). CTW Members Kaine Posted September 18, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted September 18, 2003 Urgh...Mr moo please... don't label dutch stuff as hardstyle. It does it's a dis-service. hardstyle is italian. German stuff is proper hardtrance... dutch stuff is jsut a mess Quote Out Now Dig This? / The Virus - Prophacy Recordings (FPR001) Free Your Mind - Innervison (INVR001) Dead World - Higher Order (HOR002) "You can't fool all the people all of the time, but if you fool the right ones the rest will fall in line"
