I bloody hope they dont mate, they seem to have taken a lot of the other big hard housers from around the same era as Busted and murdered them ouch.gifouch.gif

No more originality coming from Tidy Trax it seems at the moment, which is a shame IMO cos they're a fantastic label ran by great people - but they're too market orientated and the originality has really gone from them.....but thats for another topic wink.gif

Yeah after that 1st deal with them we had loads of other stuff to put their way, which was in my opinion alot stronger than busted. But they werent interested, they seemed more focused on their in-house stable of producers.

We released all the tracks on our own label Purgatory tho so not all was lost.

Yeah didnt Tidy commission Busted from Purgatory in the first place, if my memory serves me right...?!

But its gone the opposite way at the moment - Most of the big tidy trax releases at the moment are all remixes of older classics but they're just ruining them - The new remix of Lab 4 "Candyman" is shocking, i cant see why its been done when people like Guyver, Paul Maddox/Paul Glazby etc can produce 1000x better tracks on their own...

Aye they liscenced it from Purg, but it wasnt a full release, just a tp sent out to DJs etc. All came about from Lashes playin it one night when Lee Haslaam was there, he liked it and got in contact. If I remember correctly Nukleuz showed an interest aswell (my production partner took care of most of the business side of it)

Ive lost all faith in tidy at the min as you said, they are just rehashing old tunes and murdering them. A big sign of lack of direction on their part.

The wind has been knocked out of their sails. Nukleuz have outshone them by a mile imo.

Yeah, i think Tidy are playing it pretty safe given the current shambles of the market by re-releasing tunes which a lot of their fan base (75% of tidy trax fans are likely to be new to the scene and their bouncier music is more accessible than the 'serious' sounds which Nukleuz release) will have heard of but wont own - therefore they just need to re-release the original and then chuck on a remix to justify the package - Great for the new faces to the scene, terrible for the purists...

At the end of the day (and i guess im slightly biased in saying this although i have thought this all along, honest!) Nukleuz do release better quality records but Tidy can make their releases more accessible - The originality and flow of production is always a lot higher with a Nukleuz release (except mine yawn.gif) and thats why they've been the best selling label of recent times..

Tidy have got some amazing in-house producers but it seems they dont want to take a risk in releasing a record which might not break even. Nukleuz do take that risk and several releases may lose them money, but they keep faith in their artists and thats whats allowed the likes of BK to develop and become almost a household name..

*phew*

woah, you did think that through didnt you lol.

But totally agree, playin it safe is the easy option. It will be their downfall though.

Am i right in thinking Nukleuz are releasing DJ Dero "Revolution" ?? Awesome tune !! The remixes look interesting.

Yep its just come out on Nukleuz Green - Thats a good example of what i was saying - Thats quite a minor release and might not break even, but its subsidised by the bigger releases which can compensate for it - Thats why Nukleuz are streets ahead of tidy imo!

And i really didnt think that thru actually lol, just my flow of thought! Which, at 2am, is actually kinda scary...haha!

Need to check out that Revolution tune actually, i've got a previous release from DJ Dero somewhere and it absolutely rocks..
