I don't go out of my way to mock, far from it. I may laugh at some fashions, but I don't go up to people and start on them for wearing what they like!! Can I not express my views in the confines of a forum? Can I not be myself, do I have to lie to people when they say "do you like what I wear?". I do not and will not ever start on anyone for their fashion choices or the way they look!!!!!!! Quote I don't do much on this planet, but David Blaine has taught me that I could do less!! No. Defining my point of view to you, yes. What is the inconsistancy you detect? I've not noticed any. Quote I don't do much on this planet, but David Blaine has taught me that I could do less!! CTW Members alasdairm Posted August 27, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 27, 2003 these statements: "...its just that the "cyber" look evokes laughter in me." "...did they not look in the mirror before leaving their house?" and: "Well that said there is always wankers in every group, who are incapable of allowing others to just have fun." seem somewhat inconsistent to me. in the latter you criticise wankers who are (implicitly) laughing at cyber kids - something you admit you also do. can you see how that might appear inconsitent to me? whatever, i've no wish to drag this off-topic. regards alasdair Quote "I've got medication, honey. Why? I may be amused by the fashion, but I don't have a go and try to beat people up for wearing the clothes they choose to wear. YES it amuses me, but whats the problem with that? How is that inconsistent with my view that there are wankers out there who are out to cause trouble, who are unable to allow people to have fun? alasdairm said: in the latter you criticise wankers who are (implicitly) laughing at cyber kids - something you admit you also do. Ah!! I see. No thats not what I'm on about, sorry for not writting what I meant clearly enough. I was on about those who want to cause trouble, fight, etc... just because they don't like what someone wears. I then went onto explain my view (that being, I find cyber amusing), as I do not want people to lumping me in with the thugs, that we get in every town/city. alasdairm said: can you see how that might appear inconsitent to me? whatever, i've no wish to drag this off-topic. regards alasdair Not inconsitent, just missunderstood. CTW Members Blink Posted August 27, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 27, 2003 Capn, I am afraid that laughing at other people puts you on the wrong side of Well that said there is always wankers in every group, who are incapable of allowing others to just have fun Because as soon as you start laughing at someone, in my experience, it tends to ruin their night, and stop them having fun. I suppose the difference is, do you just turn to your mates and say something (ie being discrete), or do you make it obvious that you are laughing at said person. I think you will find that laughing/ridiculing someone comes under psychological abuse, which is just as bad as physical abuse. [i am not saying that I don't find many try-hards and cybers laughable (beer boys too), and that I don't joke about it with my mates, just that I am not in the poor sod's face about it, in anyway]
