I think I've heard of it, isn't it quite tricky to get used to? erm i guess it kinda is, the thing i like about it is that tho it seems tricky to start off with as the interface isn't the most user friendly, it's very flexible with the way you can route your generators thru effects - i have been using it for a few months now and i think i am jsut about starting to scratch the surface. I am big effects person and found it much easier to get something out of it that sounded (to my mind) good than using fruityloops. the way you can automate the different parts is also good. it's also free, as are heaps of plugins/effects/synths/etc (again a plus as i am a big effects person!). FL3.56 is a very sturdy sequencer - you just have to change your approach to how you write your tracks. Hmm ... in my experience it lacks some very elementary features. Perhaps you know about some features that I don't. E.g. can you view audio tracks as waveforms? (as in Cubase etc) Cut up samples and reverse parts of them visually? CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted October 3, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted October 3, 2003 E.g. a typical thing I would expect to do on a sequencer: Say this is my hihat track: X X X Y each X is a 1 bar loop (an audio sample) that goes --*---*---*---** (16th notes) I want to make a variation (Y) which is slightly chopped up: --*----------*-* In Cubase this is piss: you can just set the "snap" value to 16th notes, select the scissors tool, then hack up the sample as much as you like. Then you can delete selected bits of it, reverse them, cut and paste them etc... Then you can "hack up" your original loop X, and all the other ghost copies of X will be updated, without affecting Y. Are you saying you can do this in FL? Or am I talking more "crap"?
